A Fresh Start
Recharged in Houston
The past few weeks have been full—in the best way. I’ve completely fallen in love with Houston, thanks to two unforgettable women: Solange and Beyoncé. My mom and I went to Glory to Glory, part of Solange’s Eldorado Ballroom series celebrating Black women artists who blend faith with music and creativity. A few weeks later, I was back in H-Town for Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour—my second time seeing it, but the first time in her hometown.
Both events reconnected me to my Southern roots—Gadsden, Alabama to be exact—and reminded me why I create. They stirred something in my spirit and on a quiet morning walk, I saw the message loud and clear: CREATE.
Heart Available
I’ve also been feeling more open to dating and finding love again. But right now? That’s not the mission. I’m choosing to redirect the time I’d spend swiping and small-talking on Tinder into my creative work. If love shows up, I’ll be here—fully present and receptive.
On my first trip to Houston, I actually met someone. There was potential, chemistry, even a little spark. But it didn’t take long for the “not him” to materialize in my spirit. It was a gentle reminder: stay open, but keep your focus where it needs to be.
I’m a Pisces. I love, love. So let’s just say... stay tuned.
Trusting God’s Process
God has been growing me—in patience, in faith, and in clarity. In the past few weeks, two sermons and a podcast have given me answers to the questions below.
1. What do you do when you’re frustrated with where God has placed you?
You keep it moving.
2. How do you keep it moving?
Get back to work.
Cover your vulnerabilities with the blood of Jesus.
Trust God’s process.
3. And, when frustration comes while you’re keeping it moving?
Remember: What feels like delay may actually be protection or preparation. Steward the “not yet” well, so when God says “now,” you’re ready.
